A formulary system is a tool of a rational use of medicines

In this article a main objective of introduction of the formulary system is reflected, the analysis of the current situa-
tion of functioning of the formulary system in the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out, the existing main problems of
introduction and improvement of the formulary system, defined by the international experts who are characteristic and
for the Republic of Kazakhstan are revealed.
A priority task of a health system is a rational use and budget allocation allocated for acquisition of medicines by
means of implementation and improvement of the formula ry system in the health care organizations of all levels. Sig-
nificant economic growth in the country in recent years positively affected increase in financing of branch of the
healthcare.
The rational use of medicines requires optimization of provision of medicines. According to WHO data it is known
that, more than 50% of all medicines are appointed or extend irrationally, 50% of patients incorrectly take medicine,
one third of the population of the globe has no access to the vital medicines, and to 10% of all hospitalization is con-
nected with the collateral medicinal reactions which most part could be prevented.
By WHO experts it is established that the main instrument of the rational use of medicines is the implementation and
improvement of the formulary s

and preserves him against mistakes.
The implementation and improvement of the formulary system will provide the rational appointment and use of med-
icines based on evidential medicine criteria.
