Julia saw Michael and fell in love immediately. He was so handsome, he stole her heart, but she couldn't make him fall in love with her. She suffered, she was jealous, she made a scene. Before the wedding, Michael went to work in America, on a lucrative contract, she resented how he could so easily take and leave her. On their return they finally get married and move to London.
Michael admired Julia's game. When the First World War began, he went to the front. Julia wanted to go with him, but he said no. She played, became very popular and allowed herself a break of several months to give birth to a child.
There comes a time when Julia realizes that she has fallen out of love with Michael. This did not happen long before the end of the war. She began to feel free, she was happy! It was her revenge for Michael. Later they inherited Michael's buying his own theater. Remembering the past, Julia tells us: life deceived her, her love died. The only thing that brought her joy was her outlet is an art.
They're married. Julia is having a new affair with Thomas Fennel. She again falls in love without thinking about the fact that she's a married lady and rumors can crawl about her is not good. Because of the age difference and again not love for her, the novel does not lead to anything good. Michael tells Julia that there are not good rumors about her. Julia finds out that Tom is in love with another and wants to break through her beloved window on stage.
Julia barely decides to give up Tom and tries to build a new relationship with her old friend, her fan. Unfortunately, he doesn't want her. Julia stops believing in herself.
After not successful relations she has triumph. She plays like she's never played before. That day Tom was at her feet and Michael was delighted with his wife. In the end, she came to the conclusion that happy with yourself and love yourself that's fine. She's happy!
