London is one of the largest and oldest cities in Europe. This city is located in the south-east of England on the river Thames, which flows into the North Sea. London is the capital of England, Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. It was founded approximately in 43.
London has soft weather thanks to the Gulf Stream, so the winter is very soft and summer is warm. It has approximately the same amount of rain all year around. The maximum temperature registered is 37.3 degrees and the maximum low temperature is 16.6 degrees.
London is one of the most densely populated cities in Europe with the population is about 9 million people. There are 59% of the white Brits, 22% of Asians, 12% of black population and 3% of mestizos. Around 48,4% of them is christians, 12,4% is muslims, 5% is hindus, 1.8% is jews, 1.5% is sikhs, 1% is buddhists.
The main economic branch of London is finance, it is here that the headquarters and offices of the world's largest banks and companies are located. It is also a world center of culture, music, education and fashion. There are many different attractions, historical and cultural monuments in London. The main sights of the capital are Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Kensington Palace, Big Ben, Jewel Tower, Eltham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Winchester Palace and so on.
