Theprocess of instruction comprises the two interconnected parts of a single whole:teaching, the pedagogue’s transmittal of knowledge and his supervision ofstudents’ independent work; and learning, the students’ mastery of a system ofknowledge, skills, and habits. Pedagogy is one of the sciences studying man,human society, and the conditions of human life.The development of the goals, tasks, content, principles, methods, and organizationof education and instruction is the theory of education and instruction. The theoryand methodology of upbringing concern the mselves with the formation of moralqualities, political convictions, and aesthetic tastes, as well as with the organizationof pupils’ and students’ activities.Related to pedagogy as such are the teaching methods for individual disciplines.Defectology studies the psychophysiological development of abnormal childrenand the principles of their upbringing, education, and instruction.
