Annotation:

This article discusses the long-term or short-term storage of oil, petroleum products and gas.

Modern warehouses of petroleum products are divided into transshipment, distribution and mixed. They are a group of tanks and a logistics platform – access roads, transport, oil pumping equipment.

The types of containers used are classified according to different characteristics:

• 
  at the place of installation/placement;
  
• 
  by the volume of the tank-the characteristic is important for determining the class of capacity, including by Hazard;
  
• 
  by constructive solution of the main and additional elements;
  
• 
  according to the main capacity material.
  

These are the main enlarged classification features, according to which the distribution of capacities by type is carried out. In each case, tanks are selected taking into account the place of installation, the presence of an intermediate stage of pumping, the need for processing oil products, their composition, the hazard class of the object in which they are used, etc.
