Travelling
I’vespentthelastyearwanderingaroundtheglobeandexploringthiswondrousthingcalledlife.I’velearnedthatthetimingwillneverbeperfectbecause rarely are we blessed with the perfect time to do something. When I wasplanningonleavingtotravelforayear, itwasneverthe“righttime”wheneverything was going to be put on hold for my travels. I needed more money, or Iwould lose my job. I realized that I was never going to be “ready” to drasticallychange my life, asI wasalwaysgoing to have some new commitmentor excuse. So I left at the “wrong time” in life and it turned out to be the best thing thathappened to me. But once I got sick of missing out on things I wanted to do andsee,I startedtojustdothemanyway.I’ve also learnedfriendships are everything. I heard this one a lot before, butnever really believed it that much. It was only when I had no friends that I realizedtheir importance. Another lesson I have learned is that life doesn’t have to be“normal”.Gotoschool,getajob,orbuyabighouse.Whenanyonestraysfromthis path they are considered to be not “normal”. I began to meet interestingcharacters from all over the world and saw firsthand how they had gone “againstthe grain” and succeeded. I saw and experienced how happy people are doingsomething completely different than normal jobs, because they get to wake upeverydayanddowhattheywanttodointhe placetheywanttobe. So, while travelling you get a whole new perspective on what really matters andyou feel this sense of adventure and excitement that reminds you just how manypossibilities you have in life. It will teach you more about yourself and the worldaround youthanyoucould ever imagine.-

The Joy and Enthusiasm of Reading
I believe in the absolute and unlimited liberty of reading. I believe in wanderingthrough the huge stacks of books and picking out the first thing that strikes me. Ibelieve in choosing the hardest book imaginable. I believe in reading what othershavetosayaboutthisdifficultbook, andthenmakingupmyownmind, agreeingordisagreeingwith whatIhavereadandunderstood.WhatMr.Buxtondidnottellmewaswhattheplaymeant.Helefttheconclusions to me. The situation was much the same with my history teacher in11th grade, Mr. Flanders, who encouraged me to have my own relationship withhistoricaleventsandmyownattitudetothem.Heoftenquotedfamoushistoriansin the process. All the works I read were open texts. It was an exciting experience.Besides,Igotfamiliarwith wonderfulworksofliterarycriticism. No doubt they arrived at these beliefs through their own adventures in thestacks. Perhaps their adventures were not so exciting or romantic. And these areimportant questions for philosophers of every character. But yet I know only whatjoy and enthusiasm about reading have taught me, in bookstores new and used.Theyhavetaughtmenottobeafraidofsomethingnew, unusualornon*traditional, not to deny it but embrace it and try to understand even if youcannotagreewithit.Nottostaywithintheboundariesbutalwaysseekforsomething new and enjoy every second of this creative process and be happy everytime you get some result, no matter how positive or negative. You could spend alifetime thinking about a sentence, and making it your own. In just this way, Ibelieve in the freedom to see literature, history, truth, unfolding ahead of me like abook whosespine hasjustnowbeencracked.-
You could spend …
-
time where you can buy books -
a lifetime where you can read and books -
a Library thinking about a sentence -
a lifetime thinking about a sentence -
a Reading Hall thinking about a sentence
-
Huge stacks of books means…
-
much books -
any books -
too many books -
little books -
to take books

The unlimited liberty of reading for the narrator mean…
