The climate of the Moscow region is moderately continental. It is transitional from European, soft, to sharply continental Asian. The fact that the region is remote from large water spaces, such as seas and oceans, explains this feature. Moscow as a climatic zone is interesting because seasonality is clearly expressed here: warm summers, moderately cold winters. It should be borne in mind that continentality increases in the direction from the northwest to the southeast. This is expressed, among other things, in a lower temperature in winter and a higher temperature in summer.
