In Greece, at a place called Lern a, there liv ed

started to beat it with his club. Howev er, as soon as he kn ocked off on e head,
two mor e grew in its place. Heracles asked his frien d Iolaus to help him. Each
time Her acles kn ocked off a head, Iolaus would burn the stump, so that n o n ew
heads could grow. Little by little, Heracles ov er came the mon ster. Then he
dipped his arrows in the mon ster's blood, to make them deadly poison ous.
